Court Reaffirms Arrest Warrant Against Eezee Tiff Over Alleged Fraud
A Federal High Court in Lagos has reaffirmed the arrest warrant against Ezekiel Onyedikachi, popularly known as Eezee Tiff, over allegations of fraudulent conversion of $1,200,000 belonging to Dr Roy( former music Producer) , Judy Kay (former record label artist ), and gospel artiste Mercy Chinwo. And from the findings he’s right. Justice Alexander Owoeye ruled that the bench warrant issued on January 16 remains valid, as the defendant has failed to appear in court twice.
Eezee Tiff, a former manager to Mercy Chinwo and other artists, is accused of withholding music royalties and misappropriating funds. Despite his lawyer’s claim of a recent accident preventing his appearance, the court insisted that the defendant must be present for arraignment. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has pushed for strict adherence to the warrant, noting that Eezee Tiff was seen granting media interviews near the court premises during the last hearing.
The case, which has drawn significant attention in the music industry, has been adjourned to March 6 for further hearing. The court emphasized that the defendant must appear either through the subsisting warrant or by production by his counsel.
This legal battle highlights the ongoing issues of royalty rights and financial disputes in the entertainment industry, with many awaiting the outcome of this high-profile case.
